How to Use Your EverCharge RFID Access Card for Member Charging

What is member charging?

Member charging refers to a private, restricted EV charging system designed specifically for residents living in multi-unit buildings (like apartments, condos, or HOAs).

Instead of being open to the general public, the charging infrastructure is reserved exclusively for verified residents and tenants of that specific property.

If your designated charger does not have a large QR code label or an LCD screen on the front, it requires an RFID Access Card to start a charging session. There could be circumstances where the charger may have an LCD screen with a QR code displayed, but upon scanning the QR code it will say "This connector is not available for public charging". In that case, you would need to have an access card as the charging location is setup for member charging only.

Key Information Before You Begin

  • No Mobile App Required: When using an RFID access card, you do not need to use the EverCharge mobile app. Card activation and QR code charging operate independently—if you only use an RFID card, feel free to delete the app.
  • Serial Number Label QR Code: All chargers feature a small QR code next to their serial number. Scanning this serial number QR code will NOT start or enable a charging session.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. ) Plug In Your Vehicle: Connect the charging cable securely to your electric vehicle's charging port.
  2. ) Tap Your RFID Access Card to Start: Tap your activated RFID card once against the screen (or the RFID icon on models without a display).
    • Note: It may take up to 30 seconds for the system to allocate power and begin charging. Please leave your vehicle plugged in while the session initializes.
  3. Confirm Charging Has Started: Check your vehicle’s dashboard or charging indicator to confirm power is flowing. If you are experiencing issues please reach out to support: <<Click Here>>
