❓What is NACS?

NACS (North American Charging Standard) is the EV charging plug format originally created by Tesla, which has become the primary standard across North America.

🔌 Charging Cable & Adapter Compatibility

EverCharge stations feature either J1772 or NACS native charging cables. Depending on your vehicle's charging port and the cable available at your station, you may need an adapter to plug in.

CCS adapters will NOT work, the adapter is expecting the DC pins and EverCharge Level 2 stations will not initiate the charge with a CCS adapter. J1772 to NACS only.

Recommended Adapters

Here are common OEM J1772 to NACS adapters, but of course you can Google "(OEM name here) J1772 to NACS adapter" to find the one specifically for your vehicle.

• Tesla: SAE J1772 Charging Adapter
• GM: GM J1772 AC Adapter
• Hyundai: Hyundai J1772 To NACS Adapter Note: This is a 3rd party, non-OEM site. However, they sell OEM and Lectron versions of the adapter. We recommend only the OEM one.
• Rivian: J1772 AC Adapter
• Lucid: Lucid J1772 to NACS Charging Adapter

⚠️ Safety Risks of Non-OEM Adapters: Cheap, unbranded adapters may lack built-in safety controls, creating severe risks of equipment overheating, vehicle port damage, or electrical shock. We recommend ONLY utilizing the OEM adapters while charging.

Station Cable Upgrades/Swaps

Depending on location eligibility and property approval, EverCharge offers cable retrofits to swap existing J1772 cables for native NACS cables (or vice versa). Please contact EverCharge Support to check for pricing & availability for your building
